Male lion who fled to the tree could not escape fierce stab of the wild buffalo, pitiful end for the king of the grasslands
Buffaloes are often the favorite prey of lions, but sometimes there are ironic situations that make the “king of the steppe” a victim.
In a video clip, it can be seen that the buffalo herd was not afraid when confronted with the lions. On the contrary, they are ready to rush in, making the lions unable to deploy the battle, and have to temporarily flee.
An immature male lion, due to his haste, chose to jump onto a nearby tree trunk.
However, the trunk of this tree has a canopy that is too low, making the animal look like it is trapped by hundreds of aggressive wild buffaloes around.
For many hours, the buffaloes closed the encirclement and did not allow the lions to escape. They continuously use their snouts and horns in the hope of knocking the lion down.
Buffaloes kept watch under the tree for nearly an hour. They sniffed, jumped right under the lion’s feet to pull it down.
But after an unsuccessful siege, the buffalo herd began to disperse and became distracted. Not missing an opportunity, the trapped lion quickly escaped to safety, and ran towards its herd.
