Poor newborn lion stolen by baboons – Angry mother lion kills baboon to avenge her cub
A baboon in Kruger National Park, South Africa has recently attracted much attention after it was captured holding a lion.
According to the person who took the pictures, the cub, no more than four weeks old, was abducted from its mother by a baboon and carried around from tree to tree.
It’s not uncommon for baboons to steal babies from animals, including lions and jaguars.
However, instead of quickly killing as usual, this baboon caressed as if the lion cub was his own.
Kurt said he initially thought the cub was dead, but then discovered it was still moving.
However, it seems to be very weak and exhausted. There are no external injuries but it is possible that it is injured internally.
Even if not killed by the baboons, it is difficult for the lion cubs to survive because of dehydration and hunger under the scorching sun of this land.
The mother lion returned to find her cubs dead, the angry mother lion rushed to attack the baboons to avenge the death of her cubs.
Despite looking at the sad scene, the photographer said it was wild life and he could not interfere with anything to disrupt nature.
